Key Responsibilities
As a Data Entry Specialist at blithequark, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our data entry processes. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Gathering, organizing, and preparing source documents for data entry into our system database.
- Reviewing data for discrepancies, missing pages, or information, and resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.
- Entering both alphabetic and numeric data from source documents into the proper system database with high accuracy.
- Reviewing data entered against the original source documents for accuracy and correcting any data entry errors or duplications.
- Following data program security practices and procedures at all times to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of our data.
- Routinely securing information by completing database backups on a daily basis.
- Performing other varied clerical duties such as sorting, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
- Maintaining confidentiality of all personal and financial information at all times and in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the team leader or management.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 6 months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience in a medical office is preferred but not required.
- You must be tech-savvy and detail-oriented, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
In addition to these essential qualifications, the following skills and competencies are preferred:
- Complete knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone operations.
- Knowledge of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
- Qualified typist with a minimum of 40 words per minute (wpm).
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in previous roles, with a strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey necessary information accurately, listen effectively, and ask questions where clarification is needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
