Job Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Director of Data Science to lead our Global Data Strategy group within Risk Finance. This role is instrumental in developing and maintaining centralized reporting capabilities, implementing process enhancements and automation, and driving innovative data solutions to provide robust forecasts and analytics for the broader Risk Finance organization. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic analysis of blithequark credit metrics, credit provision, and reserve for Senior Management in Risk and Finance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to drive business growth and risk mitigation.
- Own and manage specific data assets/packages within Risk Finance, becoming a subject matter expert in the applicable tools and technologies, troubleshooting issues, reconciling results, identifying opportunities for enhancements and automation, and training other users to drive adoption.
- Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports utilized by Risk Finance and/or business partners, offering credit-related analytical support and ensuring that stakeholders have access to timely and accurate information to inform their decisions.
- Develop and present key analyses and recommendations to Senior Management, leveraging data-driven insights to drive strategic decision-making and optimize business outcomes.
- Build and maintain relationships across Risk Finance portfolio groups and with partners in Risk, Controllership, Tech, and other functions, fostering a culture of collaboration and ensuring that data science and analytics are integrated into all aspects of the business.
- Provide decision-support with a strong emphasis on developing analytics that identify trends and opportunities in the portfolio, which can be used to optimize Business and Risk decisions, driving growth, and minimizing risk.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced experience working with a majority of the following is required: SQL/Hive, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R, VBA, TM1, demonstrating a strong foundation in data science and analytics.
- Experience working with a sophisticated level of Excel and PowerPoint is required, with the ability to create complex models, dashboards, and presentations that effectively communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Experience in ML modeling is a plus, with the potential to leverage machine learning and artificial intelligence to drive innovation and optimize business outcomes.
- Solid economic and analytical skills are essential, with the ability to work with large datasets and draw meaningful conclusions, empowering business partners to make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Superior attention to detail, alongside exemplary organizational and problem-solving skills, is critical in this role, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work within tight timelines.
