About the Opportunity
As a Data Center Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining the infrastructure of our enterprise data centers. This includes ensuring the integrity of the raised floor, power and network connectivity management, and overall inventory management. You'll have the opportunity to leverage your skills, experience, and talents to drive innovative thinking and visionary goals, while working in a dynamic, remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an escalation point for incident management related to power and cooling systems, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Develop and implement operational processes for staff and vendor maintenance, promoting efficiency and effectiveness.
- Schedule, track, and provide oversight for vendor support, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality service.
- Establish and maintain data center best practices and standards, driving consistency and excellence across the organization.
- Identify training needs and provide training to ensure that our team is equipped to support the evolving needs of the business.
- Cover open positions when expert schedules cannot be filled, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Analyze data center reliability trends and risks, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Support issue management to help resolve hardware, operational, and application issues related to power and cooling equipment, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing impact.
- Assist with Data Center Capacity Management, ensuring that our infrastructure is optimized to meet the needs of the business.
- Contribute to innovation activities, ensuring that architectural and operational requirements are met and that we're always pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science) or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience working with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and UPS systems, with a strong understanding of the underlying technical principles.
- In-depth knowledge of advanced engineering techniques in design, building, testing, and troubleshooting, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
- A commitment to staying current with new and emerging technologies, through formal training and self-directed learning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience working in a data center environment, with a strong understanding of data center operations and infrastructure.
- Certifications in relevant areas, such as electrical or mechanical engineering, or data center management.
- A proven track record of driving innovation and improvement in a technical environment.
