Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute a comprehensive curriculum that meets the individual needs, abilities, and interests of all students assigned to your classes
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for students
- Implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives through instruction and action
- Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials
- Establish and maintain cooperative relations with colleagues, parents, and the community
- Perform such tasks and assume responsibilities as directed by the principal
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Appropriate New Jersey Teacher certification, or Certificate of Eligibility
- A strong and diverse skillset in English Language Arts, including expertise in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and the community
- A passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to academic excellence and student success
- The ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
Preferred Qualifications
- A master's degree in English Language Arts or a related field
- Experience teaching English Language Arts in a diverse and urban school setting
- Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional strategies that promote academic excellence and student success
- Experience with technology integration and digital learning platforms
- Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds
