Position Title: Enrollment Counselor
Department: Admissions
Title of Immediate Supervisor: Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Funded Term / Work Cycle: Full-Time; 12-Month
Expected Daily Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Expected Weekly Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; frequent evening and weekend work required during recruitment cycles and College events
Pay Grade: 5S
Starting Salary Expectation: $39,344

Position Purpose
The Enrollment Counselor serves as the primary liaison between Maryville College and an assigned geographic recruitment territory. This role is responsible for recruiting, counseling, and enrolling prospective students while representing the College's mission, values, and academic offerings to students, families, schools, and community partners.
SUMMARY
The Enrollment Counselor develops and executes territory-based recruitment strategies to meet enrollment goals. This position evaluates applications, provides admissions guidance, collaborates with Financial Aid, supports campus visit programming, and builds meaningful relationships with prospective students and stakeholders to advance institutional recruitment objectives.
Education and Experience required to ensure success in this position:
Education required
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience required
Previous experience in Admissions or higher education preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of a liberal arts and church-related college environment preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn admissions CRM and related software systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leadership and Collaboration:
Develop and execute recruitment plans for assigned geographic territory.
Serve as liaison between Admissions, Financial Aid, faculty, and campus partners.
Participate on interoffice committees and contribute to collaborative recruitment initiatives.
Maintain positive working relationships across campus.
Data, Technology, and Compliance:
Review, process, and evaluate applications and transcripts for admission and scholarship recommendations.
Provide monthly and annual reports on territory performance and recruitment activity.
Utilize data to assess recruitment effectiveness and inform strategy adjustments.
Maintain accurate records within institutional CRM systems.
Stakeholder and Institutional Support:
Recruit prospective students through college fairs, high school visits, churches, community organizations, and other outreach events.
Conduct one-on-one counseling with prospective students and families.
Provide follow-up communication via phone, email, text, and written correspondence.
Deliver admissions presentations to tour groups and school audiences.
Provide guidance regarding financial aid awards in coordination with Financial Aid staff.
Support campus tours, open houses, orientations, and other recruitment events.
Operations and Technical Oversight:
Coordinate travel logistics and recruitment event scheduling.
Represent the College professionally at regional and local recruitment events.
Manage territory communications and event planning within budget parameters.
Fiscal Oversight:
Exercise responsible stewardship of recruitment, travel, and event budgets.
Strategic Planning and Sustainability:
Provide feedback regarding recruiting trends, marketing materials, and outreach strategies.
Identify opportunities to strengthen enrollment pipeline development in assigned territory.
Other:
Perform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned to advance the College's mission and maintain a respectful, collaborative learning environment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Professional office environment with frequent interruptions and visitor interaction

Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
Prolonged periods sitting, driving, and working on a computer
Ability to operate or travel by vehicle or plane as required

Personal or rental vehicles for recruitment travel
