What are we looking for?
We are looking to add an Enabling Technology Program Director (ETPD) to our team. As the ETPD, you will monitorand evaluate all aspects of assigned program operations to ensure the quality of service for all persons supported meets their personal needs and goals per state regulations. The ETPD is responsible for accessing, monitoring, and ensuring the quality of care for people with Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD)/ Developmental Disabilities (DD) through a combination of face-to-face, remote, or technological best practices and research-based care.
Qualifications
Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following:
- Assure organizational Tech First SHIFT accreditation, including coordination with State Directors, collaborative completion of State Technology Plans, and oversight of required staff training(s).
- Evaluate all utilized assistive and supportive technologies for effective care of those we serve and maintain effective communication with all related vendors and partners.
- Identify new technologies toward better care of those we serve and other strategic partnerships.
- Supervise the State Enabling Technology Team by ensuring staffing plans and staff provided follow the ISP and the needs of the person supported.
- Conducting a weeklyreview of staff documentation and data for daily notes, goals, and other necessary provisions as outlined in the person-centered plan.
- Analyze goal data and notes to ensure they reflect the progress toward the program plan goal and update quarterly or as needed per the person supported.
- Implement and coordinate the person-centered program plan (e.g., ISP, PCSP, Technology Assessment), including revisions, updates, and follow-ups as needed and identified by the person and their circle of support.
- Be the liaison for the circle of support, communication, and coordination of all services that the person receives through state and community entities.
- Collaborate with habilitation Services, Clinicians (OT, PT, SLP, BSP), and nursing assessments to identify what technology best supports the person supported.
- Manageall face-to-face, remote, technology services, and disciplines as outlined in the person-centered-plan to include DSP, Day/Residential Team Leader, Program Manager, Day & Employment Habilitation Services, Clinicians (OT, PT, SLP, BSP), nursing assessments, adaptive equipment, and environmental.
- Ensurethat the person’s supported needs are addressed immediately.
- Ensure the person supported and related staff are trained in any technology implemented.
- Prepare and distribute scheduled state-regulated reports and upload them to the designated agency database.
- Document carecoordination notes for each person on the assigned caseload.
- Oversightandcollaboration of the internal circle of support (DSP, Team Leaders, Program Managers, RN) to include holding meetings on a minimum quarterly schedule and more frequently as needed. Meeting minutes and training documents will be documented and available in appropriate agency databases.
- Complete at minimum one monthly person-centered-site visit (bi-weekly preferred). Each site visit includes monitoring the quality of services completed by people supported for their satisfaction with the various aspects of their services and life and suggestions for changes. Monitoring of services should include internal and external circles of support members. Address any unmet needs or grievances of the person supported.
- Collaborate with Staffing Coordinator to ensure staff compliance with all acceptable agency policies and local regulations.
- Participate in pre-planning annual meetings and case conference meetings to prepare both required documents and the person-supported with the internal circle of support.
- Ensure and protect self-advocacy rights as it pertains to the person-supported services.
- Participate in staff new hire orientation and training to provide person-centered orientation for new hires and ongoing updates as needed.
- Cooperate with investigations and audits per state regulations.
- Attend/participatein all relevant agency events, workshops, training, and meetings.
- Ensure ownership during any state of emergency (preparedness or staffing plan) as the Emergency Control Officer is executed.
- Acquirepreferred provider certifications and training such as QIDP Certification, Therap Trainer, State Investigator Certification, Positive Behavior Supports, Travel Trainer, and SHIFT.

Extra credit will be given if you have the following experience, education, and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services-related field (preferred).
- Oneor moreyears of experiencein directservice with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, preferably in a community-based residential setting (required).
- Tech First SHIFT credentialing and maintenance as an ETL and ETIS (required).
- Oneyear of supervisoryexperience (preferred).
All SJCS employees must:
- Obtain a valid health certificate to meet current funding authority requirements as required.
- Having a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current driving record in good standing is required.
- Meet SJCS and the funding authority requirement of criminal background and record checks.
Physical and environmental conditions include:
- Work requires no unusual demand for physical effort except the normal risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions for operating a motor vehicle.
- Exposure to aggressive human behavior.
- Travel up to 50-65%.
The hiring range for this position ranges from $65,000 to $75,000, depending on location and experience.
