The Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG) is a mission-driven regional planning agency serving nine Greater Lowell communities. They are seeking a Transportation Planner and a Regional Planner to support various planning initiatives and projects.
Responsibilities
- The Transportation Planner supports NMCOG’s transportation planning work and the Northern Middlesex Metropolitan Planning Organization (NMMPO)
- This position focuses on transportation planning, data analysis, regional coordination, and advancing projects related to safety, active transportation, transit, and roadway improvements
- The Regional Planner works directly with municipalities on a wide range of local and regional planning initiatives, including housing, land use, transportation, sustainability, and economic development
- This role involves research and data analysis, drafting plans and policies, supporting community engagement, and helping translate community goals into actionable strategies
Skills
- Experience in transportation planning, data analysis, regional coordination, and advancing projects related to safety, active transportation, transit, and roadway improvements
- Experience in local and regional planning initiatives, including housing, land use, transportation, sustainability, and economic development
- Ability to conduct research and data analysis
