They are seeking an Editorial Assistant to support the administrative and editorial needs of the Children’s Editorial department, involving tasks such as copyediting, fact-checking, and managing project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Guiding and anticipating next steps for Editors by project deadlines, creating task lists, drafting frontmatter, copyediting/factchecking, and working on marketing copy, top sheets, tipsheets, and PowerPoint presentations
- Conducting research, maintaining title information, attending Status, Editorial, and Pub Group meetings and reviewing manuscripts and galleys will also be part of this position
- The Editorial Assistant will also submit projects for feedback, draft letters and communicate sub rights deals, respond to book projects under consideration, assist with word-processing, and manage advance copy mailings
- Lastly, they will maintain address databases, review unsolicited manuscripts, and organize and prepare editorial materials for internal presentations
