We are seeking an editor (or agency) with 3+ years of professional experience in true crime, documentary, or related long-form storytelling formats. Candidates must present a verified portfolio that demonstrates mastery in pacing, narrative tension, emotional escalation, and audience retention.
This is a fast-start position with immediate integration into our workflow and a steady pipeline of high-end cases.
--- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Edit full-length true crime documentary videos optimized for YouTube’s watch-time and retention standards.
• Craft clean, accurate, on-brand captions for every project to ensure accessibility, clarity, and increased engagement.
• Maintain a consistent 3–4 day turnaround per project without compromising storytelling quality.
• Collaborate closely with our research, scripting, and content teams to align tone, pacing, and visual direction.
• Implement industry-leading editing practices that enhance retention, tension, narrative clarity, and overall viewer experience.
• Ensure all output meets the standards expected from a multi-million-subscriber true crime channel.
--- QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 3 years of professional editing experience in documentary, true crime, or long-form narrative content.
• A portfolio with verifiable true crime or investigative documentary work (YouTube work preferred but not required).
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Strong experience with captioning workflows, accuracy, and visual quality control.
• Ability to start immediately and work under predictable, time-bound production cycles.
