The Product Data Science and Engineering (DSE) team stands at the very heart of these innovations. Position Overview
We're currently seeking a talented and passionate Data Scientist to join our dynamic Product Insights team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of product innovation, working alongside other data scientists, data engineers, and business partners to drive product vision and advance our measurement strategy. You'll leverage your expertise in analysis, experimentation, and modeling to create new metrics, systematic approaches, and deep-dive insights that directly impact how hundreds of millions of people experience entertainment.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive Product Innovation Through Measurement: Develop and implement robust measurement methods across experimentation, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis. You'll build flexible tooling and frameworks that enable rapid iteration and informed decision-making across the organization.
- Establish Strategic Partnerships: Build strong, collaborative relationships with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders. Shape the vision of product spaces by determining overarching strategies and defining new success metrics that align with business objectives.
- Develop Experimentation Frameworks: Create and optimize experimentation and measurement strategies that accelerate project velocity while supporting complex decision-making processes. Ensure statistical rigor and practical applicability in all measurement approaches.
- Ensure Quality and Ownership: Take ownership and accountability for delivering consistent, high-quality analytical outputs that meaningfully influence product decisions and direction. Maintain rigorous standards for data integrity and insight validation.
- Conduct Deep-Dive Analyses: Perform comprehensive analyses to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities within user behavior data. Translate complex findings into actionable recommendations that drive product improvements.
- Build Scalable Solutions: Develop flexible, reusable analytical frameworks and tools that serve general use cases across multiple product areas while remaining adaptable to specific partner and experiment requirements.
- Communicate Effectively: Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Translate complex statistical concepts into clear, compelling narratives that influence strategic decisions.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field. Advanced degrees are a plus but not required.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of four years of experience applying statistical and mathematical concepts to drive decisions at scale. Experience in consumer-facing product areas is highly valued.
- Statistical Expertise: Strong statistical skills and intuition with demonstrated ability to apply analytical methods to solve real-world problems. Proficiency in experimental design, hypothesis testing, and causal inference.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in SQL with experience querying large, complex datasets. Strong skills in statistical programming languages such as Python or R.
- Product Sense: Strong ability to balance addressing partner-specific and experiment-specific needs while investing in flexible solutions that serve broader use cases. Natural curiosity about user behavior and product dynamics.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Track record of translating data into compelling stories that drive action.
- Adaptability: Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive with minimal oversight in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative discipline
- Experience working with streaming media, entertainment, or subscription-based business models
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their practical applications
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or similar frameworks
- Experience with A/B testing platforms and statistical tools
- Background in product analytics or growth analytics roles
- Understanding of user experience research methodologies

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00, with opportunities for overtime compensation as needed. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
