Compensation: Competitive salary in $USD, based on experience
Modality: Hybrid at least 2 days in the office (Alajuela near the airport)

What you'll be doing: 

• Monitoring database performance and optimizing query execution for efficiency.

• Ensuring data integrity, availability, and recoverability through backup and disaster recovery strategies.

• Troubleshooting database issues and providing timely resolutions.

• Collaborating with developers, analysts, and IT teams to design and optimize database structures.

• Automating routine database administration tasks using scripting and database tools.

• Managing database access and user permissions based on security best practices.

• Building ETL (Export, Transform, and Load) operations to warehouse, data lake, etc.

• Designing and maintaining databases with strong SQL experience.

• Data Analysis and Data modelling with cloud data platforms.

• Staying up to date with emerging database technologies and best practices.

• Effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, ML engineers, and data engineers.

What you have: 

• 3 years of experience in database administration, management, or related roles.

• Expertise in relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

• Proficiency in SQL scripting, performance tuning, and query optimization.

• Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.

• Strong understanding of database security principles and access control.

• Knowledge of database monitoring tools and techniques.

• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL.

• 3-5 Years strong experience of building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. (Python, Spark, Snowpark, SQL etc.)

What will make you stand out: 

• 3+ years of database administration experience. (SQL Server / Postgres)

• 3-5 Years strong experience of building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. (Python, Spark, Snowpark, SQL).

• Strong background in data modeling and implementing robust monitoring/alerting strategies for production data pipelines.

• Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g. Sigma, Tableau, Power BI) for creating impactful dashboards and reports.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with SCRUM.

• Good understanding of Data Science or Machine Learning practices.

• Certifications on any of these data platforms SQL Server, AWS or Snowflake is plus.
