About the Role The Azure Cloud Engineer role involves owning and managing the Azure infrastructure that supports a healthcare platform critical to behavioral health services. This position combines architectural design with hands-on engineering to build secure, scalable, and reliable cloud environments in a regulated setting. The role focuses on continuous improvement of the cloud platform through automation, security enhancement, and high availability, contributing directly to the stability and security of healthcare technology systems. Responsibilities • Design and operate secure, scalable Azure infrastructure across multiple environments including IaaS and PaaS • Establish and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using Terraform and/or Bicep with automated deployments • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for infrastructure delivery • Develop PowerShell automation to reduce manual operational tasks • Implement Azure security controls such as RBAC, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, and secure networking configurations • Lead root-cause analysis and improve monitoring with Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics • Support high-availability and disaster recovery planning for production workloads • Mentor engineers and contribute to architectural decisions and cloud platform standards Requirements • 7+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering • 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience at production scale • Advanced skills with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates) • Deep knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, firewalls, load balancers, and private endpoints) • Proficient in PowerShell scripting and supporting Windows Server and SQL Server in Azure environments • Working knowledge of Entra ID, Active Directory, and hybrid/on-premises integrations • Experience in compliance-sensitive or regulated environments • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills Nice to Have • Experience with AKS/Kubernetes • Experience in the healthcare industry • Previous experience in technical lead roles • Python programming experience Compensation $115,000 — $125,000 USD annually Salary is based on experience and includes a full suite of benefits.
