Associate Director of Content Strategy

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Associate Director of Content Strategy to join Magnitude Media's Content Strategy vertical. This role is critical to helping elected officials and key left-leaning voices reimagine their digital communications strategy to better compete in today's modern media landscape. Description We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Associate Director of Content Strategy to join Magnitude Media's Content Strategy vertical. This role is critical to helping elected officials and key left-leaning voices reimagine their digital communications strategy to better compete in today's modern media landscape. The Associate Director of Content Strategy will work alongside the Senior Director of Content Strategy to develop compelling content strategies that enable left-leaning messages to break through online. This includes: analyzing content performance, identifying daily content opportunities, developing platform-optimized creative strategies, and influencing partner messaging during key moments. This person will help translate broader narrative goals into actionable content that generates attention, builds audiences, and crosses partisan echo chambers.  This is a unique opportunity to help build a new function from the ground up while working closely with some of the most influential voices in politics. The ideal candidate combines digital content expertise with strong political judgment, persuasive storytelling skills, and the ability to translate strategy into concrete action.  Responsibilities Content Strategy Development  - Identify daily content opportunities tied to news cycles, cultural moments, and strategic narrative priorities - Generate insights-driven strategies to advance key narratives around affordability and corruption  - Develop bespoke audience development strategies for priority partners  - Support the development of data-driven case studies - Encourage content best practices, risk-taking, humor, and authenticity in elected officials' digital presence. Amplification Support - Identify and prepare high-performing content for distribution across partner platforms, including elected officials, left-leaning pages, networks, and creators - Work cross-functionally to maintain a calendar of content amplification opportunities including media appearances, speeches, hearings, events and cultural tentpoles Rapid Response & Content Production - Execute on rapid response efforts during breaking news moments, working with partners’ teams to produce timely, attention-grabbing content. - Monitor and clip media appearances booked by Magnitude and identify opportunities to repurpose content. - Source and adapt high-performing content to produce assets that elected officials' teams can easily deploy. Monitoring & Reporting - Track and analyze performance metrics across elected officials' channels to identify what's working and inform content strategy adjustments. - Monitor cultural and political conversations to identify authentic entry points for elected officials to engage beyond traditional political content. - Document best practices and case studies to scale learnings across the progressive ecosystem. Qualifications - 4+ years of experience in digital communications, social media strategy, or content creation in political or advocacy settings. - Deep understanding of platform-specific content best practices across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube, Substack, and other emerging platforms. - Experience with content creation tools and platforms (Canva, Opus, video editing software, scheduling tools). Proficiency in Adobe Premiere is a plus.  - Data-driven approach with ability to analyze social media performance metrics and translate insights into strategies. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence senior stakeholders. - Voracious consumer of digital content across platforms with a finger on the pulse of what's breaking through and why. - Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort building new programs and workflows in a fast-paced environment. - Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously. - Commitment to progressive values and understanding of the current political landscape. - Experience creating content in a rapid response setting is a major plus.
