The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is seeking an Associate Accounting Analyst to join their team in a dynamic role focused on emergency management and homeland security. The position involves performing professional accounting tasks and financial analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing support during emergency operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform professional accounting and Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) analysis work related to the Office Revolving Fund (ORF) and Travel Advance accounts
- Independently utilize FI$Cal and other financial systems to reconcile accounts, process warrants, monitor advances, research discrepancies, and ensure compliance with State Administrative Manual (SAM), Departmental policies, and applicable state and federal FI$Cal requirements
- Provide backup accounting and travel support during emergency operations and participate in year-end financial reporting activities

- Principles and practices of governmental accounting
- State Administrative Manual (SAM) provisions related to revolving funds and travel
- FI$Cal, CalATERS, and related financial systems
- Internal controls, reconciliation processes, and financial reporting standards
