As we collaborate with DC Studios/Warner Bros Pictures Animation and Matt Reeves’ 6th and Idaho on a revolutionary new project, you’ll help bring bold creative visions to life through hands-on artistry and performance. This is your chance to be a part of a production that’s equal parts innovative and unforgettable. We’re looking for a skilled AE Animatic Comp Artist to join our editorial and creative team on a high-profile mixed-medium feature film project. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for storytelling, motion design, and a deep understanding of cinematic pacing. You will be responsible for animating complex animatic sequences using a wide range of media including drawn storyboards, CG elements, and live-action shoot footage. Working closely with the lead editors and the creative leadership, you’ll help bring early visual storytelling to life and build a clear and compelling blueprint for final production. Work location: Remote Key Responsibilities - Animate storyboards, CG, and mixed media elements in After Effects and other relevant software - Integrate and composite various assets to create a cohesive animatic sequence - Support the editorial and creative teams in assembling and refining story reels - Apply cinematic principles (timing, framing, staging, pacing) to storytelling sequences - Incorporate feedback efficiently - Ensure continuity, clarity, and emotional intent are carried through in animated sequences Required Skills & Qualifications - Proficiency in Adobe After Effects - Experience working with a range of media (2D storyboards, CG renders, live footage) - Strong storytelling skills and understanding of film language - Ability to work within an editorial pipeline and respond quickly to creative feedback - Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills - Experience working on animatics, previs, or editorial storyboards for film, TV, or animation projects Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and/or 3D software (Maya, Blender, etc.) - Background in filmmaking, animation, or motion graphics - Experience on hybrid or mixed-media productions At Swaybox Studios, we believe that great storytelling comes from diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences.
