Account Director, Cyber Security PR

We are supporting a leading communications agency in their search for an Account Director with deep expertise in Cyber Security and a strong media relations focus. This is a key role for someone who understands the cyber landscape, can drive strategic counsel, and excels at building compelling narratives in a highly competitive space. Responsibilities: • Lead and manage day to day client relationships across cyber security accounts • Develop and execute media strategies that generate high impact coverage • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing thoughtful and proactive strategic counsel • Oversee account teams and support their development, ensuring high quality work • Partner with senior leadership on program planning, messaging, and campaign execution • Monitor industry trends, emerging threats, and relevant news to inform client recommendations • Drive integrated communications programs that align with client objectives Qualifications: • 6-10+ years of PR or communications experience, preferably within cyber security or broader technology • Proven success in media relations, including strong reporter relationships in tech, cyber, security, and national outlets • Ability to translate complex security topics into clear, compelling narratives • Strong client management skills with experience leading mid‑to‑large accounts • Excellent writing, strategic thinking, and presentation skills • Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members • A collaborative working style with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, agency environment What They're Looking For: • Someone who thrives at the intersection of tech, cyber, and storytelling • A confident client leader with strong strategic instincts • A builder of high impact media programs that move the needle • A team player who wants to join an agency doing standout work in the security space EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
